Dr. Abbate was raised in New England. He attended Michigan State University as an undergraduate, and then transferred to Auburn University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Nutrition, Growth, and Physiology. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Abbate’s post-graduate studies are in Physiology, Nutrition, Growth, and Body Composition, and most recently Traditional Chinese Medicine, Herbology, Food Therapy, and Acupuncture. His special interests in veterinary practice are Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology, Allergies, Integrative Medicine, and Food Therapy.
Dr. Abbate is an excellent surgeon and is an internationally published author on arthritis and hip dysplasia therapy, as well as on feline leukemia and cancer therapy.
