Catherine Santos

Dr. Cathy Santos was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, and her lifelong love for animals—and the people who care for them—inspired her journey into veterinary medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Florida and went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Santos has a special interest in internal medicine, particularly in diagnostics such as ultrasound and clinical pathology interpretation. She is also passionate about integrative care and is pursuing certification in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine through the Chi Institute. Her approach to veterinary care is rooted in building strong, lasting relationships with both clients and patients, believing that trust and connection are the foundation of every positive medical experience.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Santos enjoys reading fiction and exploring new places to eat—whether it’s a Michelin-starred restaurant or a hidden gem hole-in-the-wall. She loves discovering great food and meeting the people behind it. Dr. Santos currently shares her home with her calico cat, Eclipse, a former stray who found her forever home after being rescued and brought into the veterinary clinic where Dr. Santos was working as a technician.

Dr. Santos is excited to join the team at Tarpon Animal Hospital and looks forward to serving the pets and families of the Tarpon Springs community with compassion, curiosity, and care.
